Solo Mode against the virus!
about 4 years ago – Sun, Mar 22, 2020 at 12:14:44 AM

Hello, Magisters!

A very short update to make you a little surprise!

In these times of confinement and restrictions in many countries, we thought of giving you the possibility of being able to play BRW on your own. Therefore we have prepared a Print & Play file with all the rules and cards that will allow you to play Solo Mode!

The rules and the cards are the same that you will find in the Sator box with wave 2, adapted for this P&P version, and with a ... themed cover.

P&P Solo Play Cover

Note well that this is an adaptation for P&P and does not reflect the final graphic quality of the product, which will be much higher. In this regard, remember to select the "fit to page" option before printing!

Following these links, you will find two files, one for the print-friendly version and one for the high definition version. You can download and print the version that best suits your needs!

Solo Play P&P Download

In the hope that this situation will be resolved soon and that we will all be able to start again with our lives (and our games), we hope to make you spend a few hours of fun with this little gift!

See you soon for a new update!

Wave 2 production update
about 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 28, 2020 at 01:50:27 AM

Hello dear Magisters

As promised, this update will inform you of the Wave 2 state of work.

For the Dungeonology backers, this update will be very similar to the one I posted some days ago, the general situation is pretty the same, but the BRW production is in a different state.

As you surely know, China is experiencing tough days due to the Coronavirus infection, and also in Italy, the situation has complicated in the last ten days.

In China, the situation seems to be slowly improving, even if the total exit from the problem still seems far away. Obviously, we are very worried about our friends and partners who take care of the production of our games.

Our factory is located in Ningbo, about 1000 km from the area of the initial outbreak of the epidemic. At the moment, it has not yet had the permission from the Chinese government to restart any production, and the only active staff is administrative and commercial who has returned to work in the offices some days ago.

Production has practically stopped with the Chinese New Year holidays, and therefore we are talking about a stop of about a month and a half.  On the sea transport front, our partners report that at the moment traffic to and from China is practically halved. We hope that for when everything is ready, this crisis will be only a bad memory, but it's possible that costs and delivery times could increase in the coming months.

Before the stop, in addition to the reprint of Hidden Thorn, the factory had finished printing all the miniatures and the Plastic trays of Wave 2 and had begun work on the paper part. The production was, therefore, in an good state of progress. In the January update, I had given you June 2020 as the new delivery date. It was a fairly "large" or if you prefer a pessimistic estimate, which included a slightly more extended period to deal with any unexpected events and have more time for quality checks.

At present, we do not yet have precise data on how much these 2 months of the stop will affect the delivery date. Still, given the advanced stage of production, we can estimate that the stuff still have a good chance of being delivered in the period between June and July 2020.

We will have more data when the factory resumes work at full capacity, which we hope will happen as soon as possible also because it would mean that the crisis in China has passed. I'm sorry I'm not more precise, but i promise to keep you informed on any development.

Finally, If you are worried for LMS staff, our headquarters it's in Rome, and at the moment, the major outbreak of Coronavirus is concentrated in northern Italy. Italian authorities seem to be having success in containing the epidemic so much that they have not yet had to implement restrictive measures that prevent us from continuing to work.

We really hope this situation will resolve itself quickly for the sake of our friends in China and for all of you guys that are waiting for your long waited stuff.

Thank you all for your understanding, from the next update as well as continuing to inform you on production, we will continue the exploration of the Wave 2 materials.

Asymmetry is the way
about 4 years ago – Fri, Feb 21, 2020 at 12:18:09 AM

Hello, Magisters!

Here we are at the long-awaited update that will illustrate the great surprise that we had anticipated: the introduction of the Asymmetrical Mages!

Before starting, I anticipate that in the coming days (probably Monday), we will publish a new update entirely dedicated to the production status. As you undoubtedly know, China is experiencing very hard days due to the Coronavirus outbreak. We are waiting for a report from our factory to understand how all this will affect our production already started and near the ends. For the moment, we hope that everything will be resolved as soon as possible for the good of our Chinese friends and partners!

A Big production for a Big Box

Ever since we started designing the Sator Box, we have run into the problem of its size and weight. As we added the material unlocked with the SGs, we realized that the Sator Box would be huge and very heavy!

In addition to the enormous amount of miniatures and cards inside of it, the Mage Sheets were the element that worried us the most since their weight and size we knew would have created problems.

If you take the 7 Mage Sheets of wave 1, you will find that already their weight and the space they occupy are considerable, and we had to find a way to arrange 17 new Mage Sheets, which is more than double the current ones!

All together, these sheets were creating problems both for finding the space where to lodge them inside the Sator and because their weight would have affected, not only on shipping costs but also on the structure of the box itself, increasing the possibility that it would be damaged during transport.

How to solve this problem without affecting the quality of the final product?

In the end, the experience we had in the production of Dungeonology and the excellent performance of the Scholar Sheets came to our aid. We, therefore, thought of creating 6 "generic" Mage Sheets associated with the 6 colors of the core game and Hidden Thorn, and of the same dimensions as those you already know.

Brand new Mage Sheets!

By creating a recess on these 6 sheets to house a smaller and lighter card containing all the mages information, we have made sure that for all your games, you will only need these 6 sheets much more practical and as always beautiful to see.

At the beginning of each game, therefore, each player will choose a Mage Sheet and take all the cubes, rose pins and the new Power Point counter of the corresponding color, then they can select which Mage to play by taking its Mage Card, placing it inside the hollow.

Each Mage Card will have all the information you need to play your Mage, such as the maximum number of cards and the wounds, which are marked with an indicator at the top of the card which will correspond to the last wound slot of the Mage Sheet (each Mage Sheet now has 12 wound slots).

Red Mage Sheet for Old Jukas

This solution seemed so perfect and practical to us that we thought: Why didn't we think about it before??!!?

But it was not over yet because turning a Mage Card on the other side, you will find...

Asymmetric Mages!

At first, the asymmetric Mages had to be introduced as a special add-on for the pledge manager, since as the Mage Sheet in wave 1 had been designed, the costs to produce them rates were high, and we could have given them only in the form of a new add-on.

The introduction of the new Mage Cards has eliminated this problem, and therefore each Mage Card will have a side with the Mage in its standard version, and a side with its Asymmetric version.

Jafar's new Mage Card

In its asymmetric version, each Mage will have more extreme characteristics to better represent his peculiarities. You will then find Mages with movement 3 or 1 or Mages who do more damage with their physical attacks (yes, Bronte I'm talking to you).

Also, each Mage will have 3 special skills that will characterize it even more. The skills will be indicated with an icon on the Mage Card and the explanation in the Sator Box rulebook and will significantly change its playing style.

Obviously, in the Sator Box, you will also find the Mage Cards for the 7  Mages from wave 1. Therefore you can continue playing with Nero or with Medusa in their standard or an asymmetric version without problems.

The only thing you have to decide before a game will be just which type of Mages you will use since asymmetric versions can be used only in a game where all players are using asymmetric Mages.

We are pleased to have been able to give you what is, in effect, an additional game mode! A gift for all of you from LMS to make us forgive the delay accumulated with wave 2 and the problems we have had in the last few months with the replacements.

We really hope we made you happy and that you will appreciate all of this!

Before concluding this update, we are happy to tell you that Nero, one of the most popular Magisters in the Lodge, has been chosen to create a fantastic Crossover Stretch Goal in the Tanaris Adventures campaign currently underway!

Tanares Adventures has 150+ hours of Cooperative campaign content, over 80 villains, and a Legendary Dragon Collection. Nero is trapped there and will do everything necessary to come back to the Lodge.

Take a look at this fantastic KS to meet an old friend!
